Google Reader Watcher is a Mozilla Firefox extension that lets you keep abreast of all the latest news coming in to your Google Reader account without having to open it.

All you have to do is to configure your Google account and you will automatically be alerted to any news that arrive in your reader.

Furthermore, you can see the source of any unread news by hovering the cursor over the Google Reader Watcher button, a feature that makes it even better to use.
